Clients in the country who have already pre-ordered the all-new HR-V will have to wait longer as Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) announced that the units of the sport utility vehicle (SUV) offering have yet to arrive.
In an announcement posted over its company website, HCPI is appealing for its customers’ understanding on the delayed arrival of the crossover that was introduced in the local market last April.
The Japanese automaker's local arm attributed the delayed arrival of the examples to the global parts shortage “that continues to hamper production volume.” The arrival schedule of the all-new Honda HR-V, HCPI said, remains uncertain.
“We sincerely apologize for this situation. Rest assured that our customers’ welfare is foremost in our minds. For your mobility needs, we offer the rest of our model line-up which we assure you are up to global standards,” HCPI noted.
Powering the all-new Honda HR-V is either a 1.5-liter double overhead cam i-VTEC engine that can produce 119 horsepower (hp) and 145Nm of pulling power or a 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo engine that has a peak churn of as much as 175hp and 240Nm. Both mills are mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission.
During the 8th Philippine International Motor Show, HCPI displayed the all-new HR-V RS alongside the all-new BR-V. The presentation is expected to increase the number of buyers of both nameplates.
