Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), has unveiled the
all-new, 10th-generation Honda Accord, which a offers a
more effective yet smaller powertrain to go with its myriad of features.
One of the Japanese carmaker's best-selling unit--with
22.8 million units sold as of July 2019 since the nameplate's launch in 1976--the Accord is the
second-longest-running nameplate for Honda.

During the launch,
Koki Hattori, product planning adviser, said that the all-new Accord--the fifth of its kind locally--is designed under the grand concept
"Absolute Confidence."
The latest Accord is the first in its nameplate to have a turbocharged engine. Powering it is a
1.5-liter VTEC Turbo engine developed under
Honda's Earth Dreams Technology and mated to a
Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
Despite having a smaller engine, it has a maximum power output of
187 horsepower and 243 Nm of torque, which is relatively at par, if not more powerful, to the previous generation's 2.4-liter engine.
The all-new Accord has a
Sport mode for enhanced throttle and steering response. It also has
paddle shifters for that sporty control of the car. Honda's
Eco Assist System, which consists of the ECON mode and Eco-Coaching Ambient Light, is still available to help encourage drivers achieve fuel-efficient driving.
On the outside, it has a wider stance, lower roofline, and a dramatically longer and lower hood, complemented by the wing-shaped full-LED headlights in the front, and C-shaped design of the LED taillights, with auto leveling and high-beam features highlight the bold and upright front fascia.
Combined with the chiseled hood and LED fog lights, the all-new Accord gets a very distinctive and aggressive presence on the road.
The pricing for the all-new Honda Accord is at
PHP2.288 million and will be available in three colors: Platinum White Pearl, Crystal Black, and Modern Steel Metallic.
