Honda Indonesia launches N7X SUV
Four months after Honda Indonesia officially revealed the N7X through a virtual event aired from Dreams Cafe, Jakarta, the seven-seater mini SUV will now make its global debut.
The virtual digital world premiere of the N7X SUV will be held today, September 21, 2021, and will be streamed via Honda Indonesia’s official YouTube channel.
You can watch the upcoming video here.
The N7X was originally planned to be revealed last month at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), but the Indonesian motor show was cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
We expect the final production version to be as close to the concept model revealed last May. It was said to have been designed specifically with Honda’s customers in Indonesia in mind.
Development of the small SUV was headed by Honda R&D Asia Pacific Co., Ltd. (HRAP).
The concept model featured an elevated hood, a large front radiator grille, LED lights (front and rear), two-tone wheels, and a camera that peeks at the left-side wing mirror.
While its interior and powertrain setup are yet to be revealed, Takehiro Watanabe himself — PT Honda Prospect Motor President — said that the N7X is a “concept car designed purely for Indonesians” and that it “will redefine the categories of cars and driving pleasure.”
On that note, the N7X is expected to get premium interior finishes like leather seats and the latest infotainment system.
The N7X could also receive the Honda Sensing HS (technology) which includes a suite of active and passive safety features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring, as well as other advanced driving technologies like collision mitigation braking system and road departure mitigation system.
The N7X is slated to join Honda’s growing offerings of SUVs including the HR-V, BR-V, and CR-V.
