Honda Philippines Inc. (HPI) expressed firm belief that the maxi scooter PCX160 is worth the expected holiday splurge.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What powers the Honda PCX160?

The Honda PCX160 is powered by a 157cc, four-stroke, liquid-cooled, four-valve, single overhead cam engine.
  • What are Honda PCX160's two variants?

The Honda PCX160 is available in two braking system variations: the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and the Combi-Brake System (CBS).
  • In a statement, the Japanese marque’s local motorcycle arm gave the numerous good reasons the maxi-scooter — revealed March last year — is considered a “gift that keeps on giving.”

According to HPI, the Honda PCX160 is on point when it comes to form and function. Some of its features that exude style and purpose are the new LED headlight, position light, and taillights that merges to the scooter’s sleek build.

    Honda PCX ABS

It sits on a revamped wheel design with bigger tires that raises the bar on comfort and handling.

Increasing the PCX160's riding comfort and convenience are the twin-shock rear suspension system, a 30-liter utility box, an upgraded USB-type power outlet, and a wider digital meter panel to see the information clearly.

Citing the skyrocketing fuel prices, HPI said that the PCX160 delivers both power and performance. The motorcycle is fitted with a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, four-valve, single overhead cam engine that can deliver up to 15.8 horsepower (hp) at 8,500 revolutions per minute (rpm) and do 45.1 kilometers per liter consumption. It also comes with an eight-liter tank to cover more roads.

Aside from that, the 157 cubic capacity mill comes with Enhanced Smart Power Plus feature for increased driving performance.

Further, the Honda PCX160 offers two braking system variations: the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and the Combi-Brake System (CBS). The two options come with front and rear disc brakes for optimal braking performance.

    Honda PCX ABS

The ABS variant has a Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), which are in sync to ensure rider safety: HSTC controls safety on wheel traction, while ABS provides safety rebound to prevent braking lock-up.

Moreover, motorcycle security is assured, thanks to its anti-theft alarm and answer-back system.
