Honda PH renews PBA partnership for 2020 season
The local arm of Japanese motorcycle brand Honda has announced that they will continue their main sponsorship deal with Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) for the 2020 season.
A sponsor since 2018, Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) will continue to support the league following the resumption of Philippine Cup over the weekend (Sunday, October 11). The league is set to follow the bubble concept just like that of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Through the partnership, HPI continues to provide the joy of mobility for its customers. It is also part of its ONE DREAM campaign, which aims to provide Honda Motorcycles as tools in achieving Filipino's dream and unite all motorcycle riders through various fun-filled activities.
HPI President Susumu Mitsuishi said that they are ready to provide support in supporting the tournament “as a company known for its innovative spirit.”
"As a basketball-loving nation, Filipinos consider this sport as a way of inspiring and nurturing sportsmanship and companionship. We see the value of partnering with PBA—especially that we aim to become part of improving the quality of life of every Filipino,” Mitsuishi explained.
“By doing so, we also support Filipino talents and their love for sports," the HPI chief added.
Previously, HPI also supported and sponsored the local telecast of the National Basketball Association (NBA), the world's most prestigious basketball league, since it resumed its 74th season last August 21.
Back in July, HPI has announced the cancellation of this year’s Honda Pilipinas Dream Cup (HPDC) to ensure safety of the riders as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to hurt the country.
