Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) will offer free test rides of its Honda Big Bike Adventure series, which will be held exclusively at the Honda Safety Driving Center (HSDC) in Parañaque City in October.
"This free test ride aims not just to introduce and explain all the details about the Honda Big Bike Adventure series but, more importantly, to (give) customers have an exclusive first-hand experience (in) riding them," HPI said in a statement.
The event will also provide participants a one-on-one session with an HSDC instructor. Part of Honda's big bike series are the X-ADV and Africa Twin.
Balancing the "stability of a scooter with the toughness of an off-road motorcycle," the X-ADV is made from a tubular-steel chassis. It's powered by a 745cc twin-cylinder engine, mated to a dual-clutch transmission.
The X-ADV also features a five-inch LCD digital meter panel carrying Honda's Smartphone Voice Control system (HSVCS). This technology links the rider to his or her smartphone while on the road.
Meanwhile, the Africa Twin is an "embodiment of a thrilling all-terrain experience." The motorcycle uses a six-speed transmission and an all-new 1,084cc four-stroke parallel-twin engine.
To book a slot in the test rides, interested participants must first register online through a registration link, which will be posted this August on Honda Philippines' official Facebook page.
Participants will fill out forms and select the date of their test ride. They will receive a confirmation via private message on September 2021. The test ride activities for Honda Big Bike will commence October 2021.
Confirmed participants must comply with HSDC requirements and adhere to the safety protocols set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (I-ATF), HPI said,
In this case, they need to present a medical certificate, or a negative PCR test result for COVID-19. The test ride proper is also limited to eight participants per the scheduled day, to ensure that everyone can practice social distancing.
"At Honda, we know that not experiencing to ride a motorbike can sometimes become a deal-breaker, particularly when it comes to big bikes. These motorbikes are like beasts that really get everyone’s attention because of their stance," HPI Motorcycle Planning Department Manager Hervic Villa said.
"However, for big bike riders, we know that it is more than just its stance that they are looking for. And that is why we want our customers to experience riding our Honda Big Bikes so it will be easier for them to decide which one is right for them," he added.
