Honda Philippines launches all-new CRF300L, CRF300 Rally
Honda has been one of the Filipino rider's favorite motorcycles. The brand’s understanding of the local motorcycle industry has led them to put out strong offerings like the big boy scoots PCX160 and ADV150, iconic underbones Wave110 and XRM125, as well as staples for tricycle operators and drivers, the TMX125. This time, they’re looking to reinforce their off-road lineup with the all-new CRF300L & CRF300 Rally.
Both dual-sport motorcycles serve as enhanced iterations of their predecessors, the CRF250L and CRF250 Rally, and look to usher in a new generation of design and performance for on and off-road riding. The two bikes appeal not only for those who commute during the weekdays, but also for those who enjoy a good dose of mud, sweat, and gears on weekends.
The all-new CRF300L has similar design cues to the CRF450L. Featured are a redesigned headlight, a reversed front fork, a pro-link rear suspension, and a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel combo. The overall weight is reduced by six kilograms making it faster and more agile in both paved and rough terrains. The CRF300L stands tall with 284mm of ground clearance and a seat height of 882mm.
The CRF300 Rally, on the other hand, is based on the Dakar CRF450R rally bike. That said, you can expect touring-spec features, like the large rally bike-style windshield, shroud and skid plates, a compact muffler and tail light, and a larger fuel tank — allowing you to go further in between fill ups. With its overall weight reduced by five kilograms, the CRF300 Rally makes for a light and powerful bike in both the city streets and in provincial roads. The CRF300 Rally has 277mm of ground clearance and a seat height of 893mm.
Both motorcycles are outfitted with a new 286cc, four-stroke, liquid-cooled, Dual Over-Head Camshaft (DOHC), Euro-5 compliant engine. This gives the bikes 226 horsepower and 26.1 Nm of torque. And because both the CRF300L and the CRF300 Rally enjoy reduced overall mass, both offer improved fuel consumption at 29.5kpl . The engine also boasts an assist/slipper clutch for improved gear shifting preventing the wheels from locking while changing gears.
“The year 2020 clearly showed us what motorcycles can do for us in our lives other than daily commuting, paving way to endless possibilities for motorcycle innovations. For Honda, there is no end of the road to creating a better normal for Filipinos,” said HPI President Susumu Mitsuishi.
Both dual-sport offerings come in the Extreme Red premium color variant with the CRF300L sporting a price tag of P259,900 while the CRF300 Rally is priced at P300,000.
