According to Honda, the concept cars that will make their debut in the Japan Mobility Show are the Sustaina-C Concept, Pocket Concept, and the Specialty Sports Concept.According to the Japanese brand, it will not only showcase automobiles and motorcycles but also a wide variety of power products, aircraft, as well as technologies and concept models.
“With mobility products created as the embodiment of its dreams, Honda is striving to offer value by enabling people to ‘transcend various constraints such as time and place,’ and to ‘augment their abilities and possibilities’,” Honda wrote in a press release.
To begin with, event-goers can expect to witness the world premiere of the Sustaina-C Concept and Pocket Concept. The former is an electric car that resembles the Honda e, while the latter appears to be a foldable electric bike similar to the Motocompo.
The said concept models, Honda said, are designed to enable people to transcend the constraints of limited resources. Further, they are made of recycled and reused acrylic resin.
Honda revealed that it will also showcase the SC e: Concept at the forthcoming Japan Mobility Show.
Per Honda, the SC e: Concept is an electric scooter designed with swappable batteries. It is powered by two units of Honda Mobile Power Pack e: swappable power units.
Also making its world debut is the brand’s electric sports car, dubbed Honda Specialty Sports Concept. The brand pointed out that the said concept car will enable the driver to experience the pure joy of driving in the era of electrification for carbon neutrality and the popularization of automated driving technology.
Honda will also display the HondaJet electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL), which is touted to make “three-dimensional mobility” available for people.
The marque will exhibit the full-size interior mockup of the HondaJet Elite II light business jet, and visitors will be welcomed inside to experience the HondaJet interior. In addition, the one-fifth-size exterior mockup of the Honda eVTOL, and the gas turbine hybrid system currently under development as a power unit of Honda VTOL, will also be on display.
In addition, Honda said that it will also display mobility products designed to augment abilities and possibilities. These include the Honda CI-MEV, a two-seat, four-wheel electric vehicle designed to offer easily-accessible last-mile mobility for any users; the Honda Autonomous Work Vehicle, an autonomous automobile large loads and perform a variety of tasks on behalf of its owners; the Honda Avatar Robot, a multi-fingered robotic hand that will allow its owners to perform tasks and experience things remotely; and the Honda Uni-One, a hands-free seated personal mobility device.
The Japan Mobility Show will be open to the public from October 28 to November 5, 2023.
