Honda’s UK motorcycle racing division has just unveiled its Bennetts British Superbike Championship (BSB) entry, the 2021 Honda CBR1000RR-R.
The Honda Racing UK Fireblade SP features a tri-color livery, as well as mudguards, belly pan, and rear hugger made from carbon fiber.
Long-time partners Akrapovič and Castrol, as well as Performance Parts, Close Brothers, Nova Racing and Datatool, continue to support Honda while RK Chains steps in as a new sponsor for the team.
According to Honda Racing UK, Glenn Irwin, Ryo Mizuno, and Takumi Takahashi will be riding the 2021 Honda CBR1000RR-R in the 2021 BSB race season. Likewise, Tom Neave will also ride the bike in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship.
Honda Racing UK will debut the 2021 CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP at the final official BSB test in Donington Park in preparation for the start of the season at Oulton Park in June.
Filipino fans can consider themselves lucky as Honda Philippines has made the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP locally available. The Philippine-spec Fireblade SP features a 1,000cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke, DOHC, four-valve, in-line four-cylinder engine connected to a six-speed manual transmission.
In addition, the bike offers the latest in Honda’s motorcycle technology such as selectable torque control, selectable engine brake, new ABS brakes, quick-shifter, riding mode select system, and power selector.
The locally available Fireblade SP also features Öhlins suspensions front (telescopic inverted suspension / Öhlins NPX Smart EC) and rear (swing arm Prolink / Öhlins TTX36 Smart EC). They are paired with 320mm Brembo double disc brakes (with radial-mount four-piston caliper) brakes at the front and 220mm two-piston caliper disc brakes at the rear — also from the Italian brake manufacturer.
Honda Philippines’ CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP is only available in Grand Prix Red, quite similar to Honda Racing UK’s recently unveiled BSB livery.
