KEY TAKEAWAYS
What is the tell-tale sign that Honda Philippines Inc. might be bringing the ADV160?
The sign that Honda Philippines Inc. might bring the ADV160 is the teaser in its official Facebook page showing a blacked-out rear portion of the upcoming model. What engine is fitted in the Honda ADV160?
Based on Honda Motorcycle Thailand's spec sheet, the ADV160 is powered by a 1,573cc eSP+ engine.HPI posted a teaser on its official Facebook page of a blacked-out rear portion of the upcoming model.
“Finally, the long-waited scooter is about to arrive and ready to give a new taste of excitement and adventure. What do you think it would be?” HPI said in the teaser post.
As seen on the photo, the motorcycle has a pair of subtank suspensions and a chiseled taillight design. The said design can be seen on the Honda ADV160 that is currently marketed in neighboring country Thailand.
The Thai-spec Honda ADV160 is 1,950 millimeters (mm) long, 763mm wide, and 1,270mm tall with a ground clearance of 165mm, which is similar to the ADV150. The seat height, however, is at 780mm — 15mm lower than the outgoing version. In short, the numbers do not differ much compared to its existing iteration.
Further, the front fascia of the Honda ADV160 is very familiar as the aesthetic highly resembles the outgoing version.
The major adjustment that Honda made in the nameplate is that it is now powered by a 1,573cc eSP+ engine.
In Thailand, the Honda ADV160 comes with the Honda Smart System suite of technologies.
While waiting for its official introduction in the country, you can check out our video review of the outgoing Honda ADV150.
