Honda to go all-electric in 2040, bares future EV plans for major markets
Honda revealed that it is going to become a fully-electric car company in 2040, with intentions to increase the ratio of electric vehicle (EV) and fuel cell electric vehicle sales in the coming years.

The Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX in North America will be using General Motors’ Ultium EV platform.On that note, Honda announced that it is planning to produce more than two million EV units annually by 2030.
To that end, Honda will release the Prologue and Acura ZDX in North America in 2024. The two models, Honda shared, are being co-developed with American automotive brand, General Motors (GM).
Further, Honda said that it will launch a mid to large-size EV model in 2025, also in North America. And instead of using GM’s Ultium EV platform like the Prologue and Acura ZDX, Honda stated that it will be built on the company’s own EV architecture.
In China, on the other hand, Honda shared that it is going to release the e:NS2 and e:NP2 in the country. And before 2024 ends, Honda said that the e:N SUV xù concept will go on sale.
On top of the three aforementioned Honda concept cars bound for the Chinese market, Honda revealed that there will be seven more to come to the Chinese EV market by 2027.
And finally, Honda said that it will strive to make EVs 100 percent of its automobile sales in China by 2035.
Meanwhile, an N-Van-based commercial-use mini-EV will go on sale in Japan in early 2024. It will be followed by another EV model based on the N-One in 2025. And in 2026, Honda will release two small-size EV models, including a sport utility vehicle type EV in the country.
What’s more, Honda has bared its plans to begin offering vehicle charging services in conjunction with the company’s increasingly growing EV lineup.
