Honda Philippines Inc. (HPI) unveiled the latest addition to its big bike category — the XL750 Transalp — during the recently held Makina Moto Show 2023.
Its arrival meant that Filipino adventure seekers will have a new option when shopping for a steel steed that can conquer almost any terrain and take them to places most motorbikes dare not go.

One of the advantages of choosing the Honda Transalp over its competitors is its reliable and powerful 755 cubic capacity engine.
The liquid-cooled, overhead camshaft, four-stroke, eight-valve parallel-twin engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission and makes 90 horses and 74.6 Newton-meters of torque.
This means that riders can enjoy more power and torque to get them off muddy situations and conquer higher terrains.
The Honda Transalp comes with a 16.9-liter capacity gasoline tank that can hold a generous amount of fuel. And since the Transalp is an adventure motorbike, it can provide riders with longer range in between fill-ups.
We could only imagine how hard it is to find a fuel station when you’re in the middle of nowhere.
By the way, Honda said that in terms of fuel efficiency, the Transalp clocks in at 23.5 kilometers per liter. Not bad for a go-anywhere bike.
The PH-market Honda Transalp comes with a host of decent safety features that can help riders overcome unforgiving terrains.
For one, its anti-lock braking system can prevent unnecessary wheel lock-up, reduce braking distance, and — should the rider and the motorcycle encounter a crash — reduce the impact of speed.
Meanwhile, its LED lights at the front and at the rear provide riders added visibility while on and off the road. Further, its hydraulic disc brakes provide the necessary stopping power to control the Transalp.
Alright, probably a hot take. But the Honda Transalp might not be the coolest-looking motorcycle out there.
Its design makes it appear more muted and — okay — sophisticated than other motorbikes in the category. It comes with seamless lines and a narrow profile, which makes for a not-so-intimidating look.
There are other bikes on the market that would better suit the needs of those looking for an aggressive-looking off-roader.
At a glance, one would immediately know that the Honda Transalp is not everybody’s cup of tea.
It has a ground clearance of 212 millimeters (mm) and a seat height of 855mm. That said, you must possess the necessary height to ride, let alone maneuver, this 208-kilogram beast.
The Honda Transalp — priced at P598,000 — is a solid option for those looking for a reliable off-road motorcycle. With its pros easily outweighing its cons, the Honda Transalp is a bike that’s easy to fall in love with.
