Meet Honda’s newest breed of sedan—the Civic RS Turbo.
The latest Civic RS Turbo—the tenth generation for Honda’s trailblazer—has more than a handful to offer to its buyers. Its introduction is definitely one that the Civic’s local competitors need to watch out for.
Aside from its striking appearance, gearheads would be compelled to purchase this car as the engine boasts an added acceleration. The built-in Turbo is capable of dishing out 127 kW of maximum power and 220 Nm of torque for the 1.5 DOHC VTEC engine.
One can easily claim that this trendy car is a mean pocket rocket just by looking at it. The new Civic RS Turbo dashes with coupe-like body lines, contrasted by a wide and muscly stance, while putting upfront the style and demeanor of Honda’s heritage on designing sedans.
Another attention-grabbing detail is the bright illumination of the car. The C-shaped-LED tail lights at the back end coupled with the full LED, auto leveling, and auto engaging lights at the front provide ample lighting as well as supplement the sleek design of the car.
Safety features are of utmost concern for Honda, the reason they have equipped the following into the all-new Honda Civic RS Turbo: airbags for both driver and front passenger, side airbags and side curtains, as well as ISOFIX and child lock. To top it all off, they have also installed assistive attributes such as auto brake hold, vehicle stability, hill start assist, anti-brake locks and emergency stop signal.
Aside from these, the Honda Civic RS Turbo is also packed with rain-sensing wipers, remote engine start and smart keyless entry with push start system.
Since the government is enforcing Anti-Distractive Driving Law on our roads, connectivity has become a top concern for buyers. The car has a couple of significant provisions installed: a 7-inch touch advance display audio and a smartphone mirroring capability via HDMI in connectivity.
Moreover, elegance emanates from the car. Its seats (8-way power adjustable front; split 60:40 rear), steering wheel, shift knobs, and front storage facilities are all covered in leather. The aforementioned are complemented with dual zone automatic air conditioning system to ensure utmost comfort.
Monitors for the car’s vitals are on neat display at the cluster in full color, with superb animation. The same TFT panel displays not just the usual—revs per minute, speed, fuel— but also instantaneous mileage and even its turbo.
Just like some of its siblings with the mother company, the Honda Civic RS Turbo has eco-assist features such as eco-button and eco coaching ambient. This means it can either dish out quality performance or perform better mileage—depending on the driver’s needs.
Overall, Honda’s latest Civic RS Turbo is a head turner in terms aesthetics and performance and could be one of the market’s main drivers with the new kick that they have brought to the country.
The Honda RS Turbo is priced at P1.445-million for the CVT Modulo and P1.510-million for the CVT Modulo Sport.
