The award-winning Hyundai Ioniq 6 has received its latest recognition after winning the “Gold” honor at the International Forum (IF) Design Award 2023 under the Product category.
In a statement, the IF Design Award jury praised the vehicle that sports a “streamliner” design for its “fresh and unique exterior aesthetic with subtle motifs that are carried over into a serene and relaxing interior.”
“Its overall design identity is based on deep commitments to comfort, style, efficiency and environmental responsibility,” the award-giving body added.
It can be recalled that the Hyundai Ioniq 6 has also won several awards since its global debut including the World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle and World Car Design of the Year.
Founded the competition in Hanover in 1954, this year's IF Design Award ceremony is slated May 15 at the Friedrichstadt-Palast, Berlin.
Earlier, Hyundai Motor Philippines is set to bring in the world-renowned battery electric vehicle in the local market after previewing it at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) 2023.
The Hyundai Ioniq 6—which is built on the brand’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) — is powered by an electric motor that dishes out a peak speed of 185 kilometers per hour (kph) and can do 0-100 kph in 5.1 seconds.
Its charging system supports both 400- and 800-volt systems, which boosts battery life from 10 percent to 80 percent in just under 18 minutes.
Among the driver assistive features that are expected to be fitted in the Philippine-spec Hyundai Ioniq 6 include the navigation-based smart cruise control, highway driving assist, and remote smart parking assist.
To note, the Philippine-bound model will be retailed alongside the Ioniq 5 — which is in direct competition with the Kia EV6.
Currently, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is being retailed for P3.068 million for the two-wheel-drive standard range trim, and P.3.698 million for the long-range option. The vehicle is packaged with a five-year or 200,000-km vehicle warranty; eight-year or 160,000-km battery warranty; and free preventive maintenance service for five years or 75,000-km; whichever comes first, as well as 7.4-kilowatt-hour AC wall charger.
