Hyundai Motor Group carried out the executive appointments to help strengthening its growth in the business.According to the parent company of Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors Corporation, the appointment of its key executives is aimed at strengthening the conglomerate’s growth in the business.
“Hyundai Motor Group today announced key executive appointments for the year 2024 as part of its aims to solidify sustainable growth and better prepare for uncertainties in the global business environment,” the consortium wrote in a press statement.
“This appointment reflects its commitment to a performance-based approach that aligns with outstanding achievements. By consolidating the Group’s core competencies and strategically placing proven leaders with verified track records in key positions, the Group aims to strengthen organizational foundations and accelerate our future transformation,” it noted.
Jaehoon Chang — who has held the position of HMC President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has been promoted to Hyundai Motor Group Automotive Division Vice Chair. Meanwhile, José Muñoz climbed the ladder from his position as HMC President and Global Chief Operating Officer and President of Hyundai and Genesis Motor North America CEO to HMC President and CEO.
The two are joined by Sung Kim, who will take the role of Hyundai Motor Company President from Hyundai Motor Group Advisor. Likewise, Jun Young Choi will move up from being Kia Motor Corporation Executive Vice President (EVP) to becoming Kia Motor Corporation President.
Kyoo Bok Lee also gets a promotion from Hyundai Glovis EVP and CEO to Hyundai Glovis President. Cheol Seung Baek steps up from his role as Hyundai Transys EVP and Chief Business Development Officer to Hyundai Transys CEO.
Joon Dong Oh has been appointed as Hyundai Korea Electronic Fuel Injection Corporation CEO and will leave his post as Kia Motor Corporation Vice President and Head of its Electrification Manufacturing Engineering Center.
Joining the appointees is Hanwoo Lee, who will move up as the Hyundai Engineering and Construction Company Limited Senior Vice President and Head of Housing Works Division, to become the Hyundai Engineering and Construction Company Limited CEO.
Finally, Woo Jeong Jo has been promoted to Hyundai Engineering Company Limited CEO from Kia Motor Corporation EVP, Chief Financial Officer, and Head of Finance and Accounting.
