Aside from that, HMPH boasts that it is the marque’s premier outlet in the Asia-Pacific region to carry the new Global Dealership Space Identity (GDSI) 2.0.
Further, the newly-opened dealership is Hyundai’s first authorized retailer and service provider of electric vehicles locally.
Situated within Chino Roces Avenue Extension in Makati, the latest sales facility has a 280 square-meter (sqm) showroom that can accommodate five vehicles and a 1,167sqm service area that houses a total of eight work bays — two of which are dedicated for electric vehicles.
Gateway Group Executive Vice President Michael Goho expressed confidence on its latest journey with Hyundai.
“Now, Hyundai is certainly a reputable brand which has certainly stood the test of time, and we have very much enthused to jumpstart this venture and journey. The Hyundai brand has captured the hearts of many Filipinos years ago and now with this economy thriving, with the market high in demand, we are eager to capitalize on all opportunities. We want to take the Hyundai brand back to where it rightfully belongs, and soar even higher than before,” he said.
Per HMPH, the new Hyundai Makati dealership will be succeeded by several projects under Gateway, which are now in the pipeline.
HMPH shared that the strategic location of the new site is populated by several prestigious subdivisions, malls, and commercial establishments, saying that the group “took on the opportunity to meet the needs of this customer base and also give intenders access to the new generation of Hyundai models, namely the Creta, Staria, Tucson and the new Stargazer.”
Further, the new Gateway Group-led store is set to retail the Ioniq 5, the brand’s electric vehicle offering in the country. The aforementioned model, which won numerous awards worldwide (including the World Car of the Year), comes in two variations: the Long Range two-wheel drive (which wears a P3.698 million price tag) and the Standard Range two-wheel drive (P3.068 million). It comes in four body color options namely Abyss Black Pearl, Cyber Gray Metallic, Atlas White, and Gravity Gold (the only one in matte finish).
HMPH expressed its readiness to deliver the necessary aftersales support — starting from the availability of the facility to the training of certified technicians.
The Korean automotive brand’s local arm said that Hyundai Makati — the first of the brand’s five authorized EV dealers in the country — features a 22-kilowatt (KW) AC charger and a 50KW DC fast charger.
According to HMPH, the remaining four that will become available within the year will be in Alabang, Cebu North, Pampanga, and Pasig. “All shall be prepared for ‘recovery and repair.’ Each carries specialized Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) service tools and equipment and standard safety aids,” the company noted.
Moreover, the HMPH shared that since the Hyundai Makati has incorporated the GDSI 2.0 standards, clients can expect a more customer-centric retail experience. Developed under “Richness in Simplicity” tagline, the GDSI 2.0 is eyed to help patrons enjoy the showroom while discovering the latest Hyundai vehicles without feeling pressure through the following experience segments:
- Warm and cozy lounge to welcome visitors towards the space
- Free and unobstructed car displays to allow visitors to explore and be at ease
- Interactive configuration desk for visitors to check the various interior and exterior customizations
- Exclusive zone to give visitors a more up-close look of the highlight or themed car
- Clear and clean consultation rooms for visitors to feel more open and centered
Relatedly, 12 of the 39 existing Hyundai dealerships will follow suit come the fourth quarter of 2023.
“On behalf of HMPH, we would like to express our appreciation to the Gateway Group. We are excited to set off this fruitful partnership and would like to thank them for their trust and confidence towards the Hyundai brand. Together, we will serve and offer Makati citizens a memorable ownership journey through the ‘Hyundai experience’,” HMPH President Dong Wook Lee was quoted as saying.
Aside from Lee, present during the inauguration ceremony were the Gateway Group executives and members of the Hyundai Makati team, as well as HMPH Managing Director Cecil Capacete.
Furthermore, HMPH said that it is on track to increase its number of dealerships to 45.
