Hyundai Motor PH teams up with SM anew to promote local EV usage
Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc. (HMPH) has collaborated with SM group to open up electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in various locations within its mall chain.

The EV stations have CCS Type 2 chargers.The first charging station that is the result of the newly-formed partnership can be found at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City. It is strategically-located within the establishment’s third floor of the North Parking Building.
Per HMPH, the other charging stations covered by the partnership will be put up within the premises of the following malls: The Podium, SM City Fairview, SM City Clark, SM City Cebu, and SM Lanang Premier.
Both HMPH and SM clarified that the EV charging facilities in their parking areas will not be exclusive to Hyundai’s electrified offering (currently limited to the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6). According to HMPH, any EV models that use a CCS Type 2 charger can utilize the equipment.
In addition, the use of EV charging stations is free to mall goers.
SM Investments earlier said that EV charging stations are already available in 27 malls nationwide.
“The EV charging stations in SM Supermalls are one of the sustainability initiatives under the SM Green Movement. Aside from advocating air conservation and clean energy through this innovation, we champion solid waste management, water conservation, energy efficiency, and disaster resilience for a greener, safer tomorrow” SM Supermalls President Steven Tan was quoted as saying.
It can be recalled that in December 2022, HMPH has already collaborated with SM for the latter’s holiday spectacle, Night of Lights. It was also conducted at the SM Mall of Asia grounds.
