Hyundai PH 4th in CV sales in 2021

Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) announced that it was the country’s fourth best-selling brand in the local commercial vehicle arena in 2021.

Records provided by the Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors, Inc. (AVID) showed that Hyundai trucks and buses sold 936 units for the full 12-month period.

With that, HARI cornered 8.8 percent of the 10,668 samples rolled out to buyers that the entire industry had for the same timeline. 

The local arm of the Korean truck maker also outpaced the industry growth rate with HARI experiencing a 206.9-percent increase versus the 26.2-percent rise the truck and bus industry enjoyed.

According to HARI, the Hyundai County led the Bus segment (the top weight category), noting that won “the trust and confidence of many private and government establishments for its efficiency, durability, and versatility as a people mover.”

“As a mobility solution for driving healthcare services under the Hyundai’s Vaccine on Wheels (VOW) Program, the Hyundai County once again demonstrates its flexibility and dependability as a mobile vaccination clinic, supporting the national agenda for the safe and efficient rollout of vaccines,” HARI added.

Further, Hyundai's stellar performance also came from other members of its trucks and buses, such as the Hyundai MedTRX refrigerated truck series, Hyundai Xcient, Hyundai Universe, and the Hyundai HD50S and HD48 GT modern public utility vehicles.  

“(Year) 2021 was a challenging but fulfilling year for Hyundai Trucks and Buses,” said HARI President and Chief Executive Officer Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo was quoted as saying.

“The success of the brand is a true testament to our unwavering commitment to keep the Filipino entrepreneur spirit alive and well during these uncertain times.
