Hyundai PH delivers PUVMP units to Northern and Central Luzon transport groups
Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) continues to show its support to the nationwide public utility vehicle modernization program (PUVMP) after recently turning over a fleet of HD50S Class 2 Modern PUV to transport cooperatives in the Northern and Central Luzon.
HARI — through Hyundai Trucks and Buses Cabanatuan (HTB Cabanatuan) — supplied 23 units to the Laoag Bacarra Pasuquin Transportation Group Inc. (LBPTGI) last July 8, while 15 vehicles of the same model were delivered to the Sapang Palay Tungko Grotto Transport Service Cooperative (SPTGTSC) of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan in July 19.
The distributed units are part of the estimated 100 Modern PUV that the Korean vehicle manufacturer’s local arm distributed to various transport cooperatives around the country this year.
The said fleet turnover is HTB Cabanatuan’s fourth of such in 2021, which covered Tarlac, Pangasinan, and now, Ilocos Norte and Bulacan.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in the government’s PUVMP and to contribute to helping the country’s hard-working transport cooperatives to modernize their fleet through Hyundai’s quality people movers,” HTB Cabanatuan President Dennis San Juan was quoted as saying.
“Our dealership is ready to provide service assistance necessary for their cooperatives to keep on moving for sustainable mobility and progress,” he added.
HARI shared that the said events were graced by key officials from the national and local government, transportation sector, banking industry, and community-oriented groups.
During the official turnover ceremony at Laoag International Airport, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade lauded the LBPTGI’s PUV modernization efforts. “By banding together into one cooperative, you are making sure that public transportation is not only safe and comfortable, but more importantly, reasonable,” he said.
For her part, HARI President and Chief Executive Officer Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo claimed that the strong sales output from its Modern PUV models is an indicator of the growing trust and confidence of the transport sector in Hyundai.
“HARI believes that quality speaks for itself, and that commitment to quality is what our hard-working, progressive transport groups have seen in our Hyundai Modern PUVs. They can rest assured that we shall return their trust with nothing less than dedicated service and assistance to maintain the quality, safety, and road-worthiness expected of our Modern PUVs,” she explained.
