Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI)--
Hyundai's authorized vehicle distributor in the Philippines--has
finally revealed the prices and variants of the
all-new, fifth-generation Hyundai Accent,
just over a month after the subcompact car made its local debut in December 2018.
As we earlier reported, the Accent is offered with two powertrain choices: a
1.6-liter U-II diesel engine or a
1.4-liter Kappa gasoline mill, which are available with either
a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, with power output at
126 hp and 260 Nm of torque or
99 hp and 132 Nm, respectively.
Outside, the Accent boasts of Hyundai's
Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language, with its well-defined lines and seamlessly sculpted contours giving it a a sensuous yet sporty look. But underneath the sheet metal is Hyundai's
proprietary Advanced High-Strength Steel, of which
50 percent of the car is made of, that is strong yet lightweight enough "that it improves the vehicle’s drivability and aerodynamics."
Inside, the Accent has a more comfortable and roomier cabin, complete with ergonomic seats and a relaxing driver space, a
