The China-made Hyundai Custin is priced from P1.770 million to P2.08 million. When asked if HMPH has a particular sales target when it comes to the Stargazer X, Parulan said that they believe that the nameplate’s new range-topping model will be a strong contender in the local multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) category due to what it offers Filipino car buyers.
“Well the Stargazer X plays in one of the biggest segments in the industry, which is the MPV. We are expecting it to be a strong contender — although we cannot give a number right now — but we are hopeful with the product, given its features and its offerings,” Parulan noted.
The Indonesian-made Hyundai Stargazer X is equipped with eye-catching exterior features such as its LED light bars at the front and at the rear, its noticeable black 3D grille with chrome accents, its 17-inch alloy wheels, and its spaceship-like dimensions.
Inside, the Hyundai Stargazer X comes with seats covered in leatherette material with sporty red stitching, a Supervision instrument panel with a 4.2-inch thin-film transistor LCD screen, and an eight-inch touchscreen display with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.
Creature comfort amenities come in the form of a wireless charging dock, power windows, various charging ports, a slew of cup holders, a pair of back seat tables for the second-row occupants, as well as Bluetooth connectivity with a voice recognition system.
The Hyundai Stargazer X is offered with a sticker price of P1.348 million.
As for the recently unboxed Hyundai Custin, Parulan revealed that they are expecting the nameplate to be an “aggressive” player in the MPV segment.
“It’s a new player and we will be expecting it to be aggressive in the coming months. So, we are very hopeful, like the Stargazer X — though we can’t give a specific figure — but given the price point and the competition that is currently available in the market, we are very optimistic about the turnarounds that the Custin will produce,” Parulan stated.
Notably, the Hyundai Custin offers upmarket features for its would-be owners such as multi-faceted reflector headlamps, LED exterior lighting, 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels (depending on the variant), diamond-style appliques in its flanks, smart sliding doors, and a power tailgate.
Inside, its occupants will be treated to a 4.2-inch full digital instrument cluster, a vertically-oriented 10.4-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and voice recognition features, automatic air conditioning, captain seats or premium relaxation seats (depending on the variant), foldable backseat tables, and rear curtains.
The China-made Hyundai Custin is offered in two trims and retails from P1.770 million to P2.08 million.
