Hyundai PH says getting HD45 GT, HD78 GT a ‘good investment’
Heavy vehicles are — literally and figuratively — a huge investment. It requires a massive sum of money to acquire and maintain to reduce downtime. Although the risk is high, the returns are also substantial should buyers pick a reliable partner.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
What engine powers the HD45 GT and HD78 GT?
The two models are powered by a 2.9-liter turbocharged common-rail direct-inject diesel engine. What warranty covers the two Hyundai models?
Both offerings are packaged with a three-year or 200,000-kilometer warranty (whichever comes first). With that, Hyundai Trucks and Buses (HTB) Philippines recently shared the advantages of getting its HD45 GT and HD78 GT.
- 2.9-liter turbocharged common-rail direct-inject diesel engine
HTB Philippines said that the engine — though seemingly lightweight — is very capable. The company said that the power mill provides the vehicles’ correct power-to-weight ratio to keep businesses running — whether for hauling, long-distance travel, or uphill driving with cargo in tow. According to the brand’s local truck distributor, the same engine that can provide 158hp and 392 Nm of torque is also fuel-efficient.
- Flexible deck length options and generous payload capacities
HTB Philippines noted that the Hyundai HD45 GT is available in medium wheelbase ([MWB> loading capacity is at 12.87 feet) and long wheelbase ([LWB>14.69 feet loading space). The figures, the company said, only reflect the cab to end-of-frame dimension and the cargo deck can be stretched based on customer preference. In terms of gross vehicle weight (GVW), the Hyundai HD45 GT is only 4,490 kilograms (kg).
On the other hand, the HD78 GT comes in three deck length variations: MWB with 13.87 feet loading space; LWB with 17.15 feet loading space; and extra-long wheelbase (ELWB) that affords 18.58 feet of loading space — but can be extended depending on the client’s inclination. The truck’s GVW is 7,800kg.
- Technological features
HTB Philippines takes pride in the trucks' technological advancements such as the anti-lock braking system (ABS) as well as the power take-off (PTO) that come as standard on the two models.
The ABS stops the vehicle safely and effectively (even on slippery roads) while the PTO provides power to auxiliary equipment to perform work at the business site.
- Durable frame and cab
The two are made with rigid, high-strength frames that can withstand heavy load and the rigors of frequent travel on varying road conditions and an equally-durable cab to protect both driver and passenger.
Not only is the steel shell sturdy, it also helps dissipate force in the event of an impact and is highly-resistant to rust.
- Comfortable cabin
The Hyundai HD45 GT and HD78 GT offer generous cab space with adjustable ergonomic seats and storage for water bottles, maps, hand sanitizers, and other travel essentials. The two have their respective air-conditioning units as standard.
Moreover, the trucks are packaged with a three-year or 200,000-kilometer warranty (whichever comes first).
