Hyundai Accent, Elantra, Grand Starex Push Hyundai PH's Sales Through May
Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines, has registered 2,801 units as sold for the month of May, pushing its January to May 2017 sales figure to 14,163 units--a six percent increase over the 13,410 units it sold for the same period in 2016.
Continuing to drive HARI's sales growth is its Passenger Car (PC) segment which has grown by six percent year-to-date with 9,770 sold for 2017 compared to 9,193 units it sold for the same period last year. Leading HARI's PC sales is the Hyundai Accent with 6,229 units sold, up by 39% from 2016's January to May sales total. The Elantra has also proven to be a popular model for HARI with 559 units sold for a 31% increase year-to-date.
For HARI's Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV), the Hyundai Grand Starex leads the segment with 1,672 units sold, with total segment sales up by four percent with 4,393 units for the same five-month period this year over the 4,217 units sold for the same period in 2016. Other LCV models that have seen their year-to-date sales go up from January to May 2017 are the Hyundai Tucson (1,279 units), Hyundai Santa Fe (303 units), and Hyundai H100 (1,139 units).
