Hyundai Motor Company brought a dressed-up Ioniq 5 N at the recently concluded Tokyo Auto Salon.
According to the South Korean car brand, the kitted car on display was dubbed the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N NPX1. It wore a suite of performance parts made by the carmaker’s racing division, Hyundai N.
The accessories worn by the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N NPX1 included a carbon front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser, rear wing spoiler, lightweight hybrid carbon wheels, high-performance brake pads, and lowering springs.
Further, the spcced-out Hyundai Ioniq 5 boasted Alcantara material and racing bucket seats.
Per the Seoul-headquartered carmaker, the N-specific performance parts slapped on the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N NPX1 will still be further developed before it will be sold this year. Hyundai N will expand its offerings in the future and will build performance parts for other high-performance cars from the brand’s roster.
“In 2024, Hyundai Motor Company will take a step forward as a leader in new tuning parts suitable for the high-performance EV era as demonstrated with the ‘NPX1’ concept model,” Hyundai N Brand Management Group Vice President Joon Park noted.
“Not limited to tuning parts, we are also developing software customization such as sound and vehicle calibration by OTA (over-the-air) updates which will open a completely new category of EV (electric vehicle) customization for an exciting future ahead for the tuning community,” he added.
