Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) shared that the Staria nameplate has retained its title in the “Best Cars” award from German trade journal “Auto Motor und Sport” under the van-import category.
The Korean automotive manufacturer’s distributor in the country said that the aforementioned model bested 15 nameplates in the segment.
“Receiving the award immediately after Staria’s sales launch last year was a pleasant surprise. It had turned into an incentive for the entire team to repeat this great success,” Hyundai Motor Deutschland GmbH Managing Director Jürgen Keller was quoted as saying.
“The fact that Staria was able to outperform these important competitors says a lot about our brand and the quality of our products. We are proud to have received this award for the second year in a row. It confirms that our MPV offering remains unparalleled in the German market,” the executive added.
To note, the Hyundai Staria boasts a futuristic and clean design, as well as a spacious interior. The 5.25-meter-long vehicle comes in seven- and 11-seater configurations.
Its cabin is very family oriented as seen in the infotainment system that has a hands-free communication function and is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; a Bose speaker setup that guarantees high-quality audio experience; and Nappa leather seats that ensure elegance and comfort. In addition, the vehicle's second-row power captain seats can be adjusted to almost full recline for ultimate comfort.
The Hyundai Staria is powered by a 2.2-liter VGT diesel engine that can deliver as much as 175 horsepower and a maximum torque of 431Nm. It is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Just like every Hyundai offering, the Staria has placed occupant safety as priority, among the string of technologies are the rear occupant alert that notifies the driver visually and audibly as a reminder to check the rear seats once the engine has been turned off and the driver door is opened.
Customers will also find a comprehensive range of Hyundai Smart Sense safety systems in their Staria Premium seven-seater, including forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Surround and Blindspot View Monitor, and high beam assist.
