Hyundai unveils Ioniq 6 BEV
It has been a week since Hyundai revealed concept sketches of its upcoming battery-electric vehicle (BEV), the Ioniq 6. Now, the South Korean carmaker shows us what to expect from its upcoming offering with stunning photos that give us Cyberpunk 2077 vibes.

Per Hyundai, more details about the Ioniq 6 will be announced next month.The Ioniq 6 comes in as the second model from the Ioniq line and is touted as an electrified streamliner whose streamlined aerodynamic design helps the car achieve a coefficient drag of 0.21, the lowest value achieved by a Hyundai vehicle.
Noticeable on the Ioniq 6 is its Parametric Pixels, 700 of which Hyundai is said to have used. These can be found on the car’s headlamps, rear combination lamps, front lower sensors, air vent garnishes, and center console indicator, reinforcing the Ioniq brand identity throughout the vehicle.
The rear wing’s Parametric Pixel High-Mounted Stop Lamp (HMSL) delivers an eye-catching light execution when the brakes are applied. To further highlight Ioniq 6’s uniqueness, the newly designed Hyundai “H” badge is applied on the front and rear of the vehicle.
Other eye-catching details include the Ioniq 6’s elliptical wing-inspired spoiler and winglet, slight boat-tail structure, and separation traps on both sides of the rear bumper.
Hyundai also revealed the interior details of the Ioniq 6. A cocoon-shaped interior that lives up to the company’s “personalized place for all” philosophy awaits its owners. Thanks to the brand’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the Ioniq 6 allows for a spacious and comfortable interior.
The removal of buttons from the front doors provided more breathing room and more storage. Transparent accents on the crash pad garnish, door map pocket and console lower cover further accentuate the sense of spaciousness and uniqueness.
Featured is an ergonomically designed control unit that is centrally located to reduce distraction and spur safe, intuitive driving. It has a modular touchscreen dashboard that integrates a 12-inch full-touch infotainment display and a 12-inch digital cluster. A bridge-type center console provides convenient and generous in-car storage.
Inside, the Ioniq 6’s Dual Color Ambient Lighting, which offers a spectrum of 64 colors and six dual-color themes developed by color experts, will help drivers and passengers feel relaxed and comfortable. The four-dot Interactive Pixel Lights on the steering wheel enable easy communication between the driver and vehicle.
“Ioniq 6 connects an emotional convergence of functionality with aesthetics. The distinctive streamlined design is the result of close cooperation between engineers and designers, with obsessive attention to detail and customer-centric values at the core. We have created the Ioniq 6 as a mindful cocoon that offers a personalized place for all,” said Hyundai Design Center Head and Executive Vice President SangYup Lee.
The Ioniq 6 world premiere will take place in July, when Hyundai will reveal the full specifications, including the electrified streamliner’s features and advanced technologies.
