Hyundai's VOW to boost vaccine rollout with MedTRX, County
Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai commercial vehicles in the Philippines, supports the national COVID-19 vaccination rollout with the Hyundai Vaccine on Wheels (VOW) program.
VOW is a portfolio of vehicles that will support the transport and administration of vaccines nationwide. It includes the MedTRX Series and the County, which has been made to be a vaccination site on wheels.
The MedTRX (pronounced med trucks) Series is a fleet of refrigerated vans intended for local governments, health sectors, and cold chain solutions for the COVID-19 vaccine delivery. The MedTRX is based on two commercial vehicle platforms: the HD36L and HD65.
One version of the MedTRX is the HD36L, a refrigerated van built with Cooltech by Centro.
Its refrigerated cargo hold uses stainless lock rod and hinges, and four-inch polystyrene foam insulation that manages the temperature set by the Thermal Master T-1600 refrigeration. HARI said the Thermal Master can keep vaccine jabs cool at -20 degrees Celsius.
The other MedTRX refrigerated van is the HD36L developed by HK Climate Controls Inc. (HKCCI).
This model has stainless lock rod and hinges and side door access for added convenience. Inside, it uses Frigid Air 45 that can attain a temperature of -25 degrees Celsius, which works with the four-inch polyurethane foam insulation.
Also developed by HKCCI, the HD65 MedTRX features four-inch polyurethane foam insulation, stainless lock rod and hinges, and side door access.
Its Frigid Air refrigeration system can attain -25 degrees Celsius, and comes with an Electric Standby Unit and Automated Thermoregister to maintain and monitor the cargo temperature.
With these features, the HD65 complies with the guidelines provided by the World Health Organization (WHO), the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention (US CDC), and the United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA). It also meets the WHO standard temperature range of 10 to -25 degrees Celsius for vaccine storage.
As Hyundai’s mobile vaccination clinic variant, the County's interior can be configured to accommodate a clinical bed and storage for medical essentials and other healthcare goods.
Inclusions are two units of portable Bio Ultra Freezers, two units of retractable tent, blood pressure apparatus, and oxygen tank with regulator and humidifier. Other optional medical and emergency equipment are also made available depending on the customer’s need.
For more information on the customization and available features of the VOW series, HARI can be contacted through its authorized dealers of Hyundai Trucks and Buses, while more information on HARI's trucks and buses are available here: https://www.hyundai.ph/trucksandbuses.
