Honda Connect is one of the selling points of the recently launched all-new Honda CR-V. But what exactly does this technology mean for car buyers and how does it make the brand’s sport utility vehicle smarter?
That said, we take a look at Honda Connect and how it can improve your overall vehicle ownership.
Honda Connect is a smart technology that allows the car owner’s smartphone to connect with the automobile.
While it may seem like the typical screen mirroring or app-sharing feature we see on most modern cars, Honda Connect can do so much more.
The Honda Connect will allow owners to control some of the vehicle’s features without pushing any buttons or toggling any switches from the Honda CR-V’s dashboard, steering wheel, or center console.
Per Honda, some of the features that can be accessed through Honda Connect include the door locks and the lights. And on top of allowing car owners to remotely lock and unlock the door as well as turn the lights on and off, the technology allows one to start the automobile’s engine without setting foot in the cabin of the SUV.
Some practical applications would be when you want to “pre-cool” your car if it has been parked under the scorching sun in an open parking lot.
Honda Connect also sends alert notifications to vehicle owners. As an example, a notification will be forwarded to the owner’s connected smartphone if the alarm of the Honda CR-V has been triggered.
This feature will be useful in keeping one in the loop of the safety of the SUV when it is left parked in an unsecured area.
Further, owners of Honda Connect-equipped cars can enjoy better journeys thanks to its feature that advises drivers to nearby gas stations and ATMs.
Finally, Honda Connect can be one’s best friend when it comes to car maintenance. Through it, owners can take a quick look at their vehicle’s overall health condition.
If you’re eyeing the all-new Honda CR-V, you are eligible for a three-year free subscription to Honda Connect.
