Indonesia 2017: Toyota ID brings updated Toyota Agya to the show
Fresh from its launch in the Indonesian market last April 7, the updated Toyota Agya--sold in the Philippine market as the Toyota Wigo--was brought to the 2017 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) in Jakarta by Toyota Astra Motor (TAM), the official assembler and distributor of Toyota in the country.
The refreshed Agya has a more stylish and modern exterior and interior design, like the sportier front and rear bumpers and the projector headlights with LED light guides for the former and semi-bucket seats for the latter.
More important though are the more powerful and fuel efficient engine technologies incorporated into the 1.0-liter VVT-i and 1.2-liter dual VVT-i mills.
According to TAM, since the updated Agya's launch on April 7, it has received 2,600 orders for the micro car, and that since its launch in 2013 until March 2017, it has sold 197,310 units of the Agya.
"(The) new Agya is expected to meet customers' expectations in the entry segment through a more complete lineup, stylish design, and more powerful yet efficient engines," said TAM Vice President Director Henry Tanoto. "The introduction of the new Agya will change customers' pint of view toward Toyota's entry segment, in which the product can be as stylish and modern as Toyota's pricier offerings."
