Indrive enters PH market

Indrive

A new ride-hailing app has entered the Philippine market.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What is Indrive's difference with other transport network companies?

Unlike other transport network companies, the California-headquartered firm lets both passenger and driver choose based on their preferences.
  • What cities in the Philippines will Indrive initially operate in?

The new transport network company will initially offer its ride-hailing services in Bacolod, Baguio, Iloilo City, Cagayan de Oro, and Butuan.
  • In a statement, Indrive announced that it has received an official accreditation to operate as a transport network company in the country.

To directly compete with Grab, the California-headquartered firm will activate its initial application in five cities namely Bacolod, Baguio, Iloilo City, Cagayan de Oro, and Butuan.

Prior to entering the Philippines, Indrive has already established presence in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, and is already present in more than 700 cities and 45 countries.

Per Indrive, passengers and drivers can choose based on their preferences.

Once a ride request is confirmed, passengers are shown a list of available drivers, which will allow them to choose based on preferences (driver rating, vehicle model, and estimated time of arrival). Meanwhile, drivers can also accept or ignore passengers as they will be given with detailed ride requests (fare, pick-up point, and destination) without penalties.

The company is currently in the process of recruiting drivers. To boost its campaign, Indrive is giving fuel vouchers worth $10 (around P550) to drivers who will successfully register with the platform.

Aside from that, drivers can use the app without paying service fees when accepting rides for the starting period.

Further, Indrive also shared its numerous safety features such as:

    • Real-time sharing of location and ride details with trusted contacts.
    • A dedicated emergency button connecting users directly with law enforcement agencies.
    • A chat function for private communication between passengers and drivers.
    • 24/7 support via in-app chat and email.
    • A stringent driver registration process

In addition, Indrive has also introduced a Safety Pact — fostering a three-way alliance between passengers, drivers, and inDrive. The agreement, the company noted, emphasizes shared responsibility for ensuring the safety of every ride.

“We are thrilled to receive official accreditation from the LTFRB, a testament to our unwavering commitment to safety, reliability, and innovation. As we embark on this exciting journey, we look forward to fulfilling the transportation needs of Filipinos, providing them with more choices, and contributing to the evolving landscape of urban mobility,” Indrive Director for Asia-Pacific Roman Ermoshin said.
