Initial Omoda 5 units now in PH

The first batch of Omoda 5 units has landed in the Philippines, Omoda Philippines confirmed.

Per Omoda Global’s subsidiary, which is set to distribute both internal combustion engine (ICE) and new energy vehicles in the country, the said units will be used for pre-launch activities and previews to further prepare for its scheduled brand launch before the year ends.

“We are excited to finally have the actual Omoda 5 units in the country. This way, we can have an avenue to offer our stakeholders, media partners, and potential clients a full-on experience with the car even before its formal launch. We also have some pre-launch activities in the pipeline that’s geared towards building more confidence with our products,” said Omoda and Jaecoo Philippines Brand Manager John  Ezekiel Asuncion.

Omoda and Jaecoo Philippines Country Director Marco Chen also flew in from Anhui, China to personally inspect the PH-spec units.

According to Omoda Philippines, it will offer four Omoda 5 variants in the country. They are the 1.5-liter turbocharged ICE entry-level model, the 1.5-liter turbocharged ICE top-spec grade, the Omoda 5 EV (electric vehicle), and the Omoda 5 EV Extended Range (450 kilometers).

Omoda and Jaecoo are slated to stage a soft launch of their respective brands in the country by the end of 2023. Retail of their products will commence by early 2024.
