Is Nissan PH planning to bring in the Kicks and Serena this year?
Insofar as vehicle launches are concerned, does Nissan in the Philippines still have a lot up its sleeve in 2021?
Apparently, they might bring two other models, a source told us.
Based on the tip shared to Carmudi Philippines, the local arm for the Japanese distributor is keen on bringing in, aside from the much-awaited electric vehicle Nissan Leaf and the recently launched Navara pickup truck, are the Serena minivan and the Nissan Kicks SUV in the country. However, just like every plan made before the COVID-19 global pandemic, the decision to bring it to the local market got delayed.
Though as far as the other two other models are concerned, the source shared that the Kicks might be brought to the country by last quarter of this year. “Though not as sure as day,” the informant reiterated.
The local distributor itself is not dropping hints yet if they would be carrying any these nameplates anytime soon. Still, there is time to bring the Serena and Kicks later this year.
The Nissan Kicks is eyed to replace the Nissan Juke, which quietly left the Philippine stable sometime in 2019. Meanwhile, the Serena (which gained its popularity in the Philippines years back in the gray market) will likely fill the minivan category and will go head to head with Honda Odyssey, Kia Grand Carnival, among others.
