The Isuzu D-Max has proven its capabilities once again after conquering three divisions in the 2022 Philippine Rallycross Series (PHRX).
On board the winning Isuzu D-Max 3.0 LS-E 4x4 AT rally vehicles (which bore minimal modifications) were local rally drivers Louie Camacho and Mon Dimapilis.
“We are very proud of the result of this year’s Philippine Rallycross Series. The Isuzu D-Max has proven once again its versatility and durability — this time on the dirt track. And this is the kind of lifestyle we want to promote with this vehicle, our customers can enjoy the D-Max both for work and play on the weekends,” Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) Assistant Division Head for Sales Robert Carlos was quoted as saying.
While it wore racing seats and harnesses, as well as modified tires and suspension, IPC shared that the aforementioned Isuzu D-Max vehicles were still powered by the stock 4JJ3-TCX Blue Power diesel engine.
“With another feather on its cap, the Isuzu D-Max shows strength in different aspects, no doubt why it is still one of the most popular pick-ups in the market today,” the company said in a statement.
To note, PHRX is a timed racing competition in a dirt track that started in 2015. Many professional car racers and motorsport enthusiasts participate in the competition’s different categories and various classes.
The latest PHRX season, which began last May, saw nine rounds of technical dirt driving held at different dirt tracks within Cavite and Pampanga. After the ninth round, the Isuzu D-Max Team was able to secure a one-two finish in three classes with Camacho winning the over-all championship title for Pick-up, Utility Vehicle, and All-Wheel Drive Class, and Dimapilis taking the first place in all three divisions as well.
