Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) shared that the D-Max and mu-X covered more than 1,500 kilometers of road during the five-day Isuzu Challenge.
Accompanied by official verifiers from the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) when they started at the Isuzu Subic dealership, the two teams on board the company’s two best-selling variants in the market — D-Max 3.0L 4x2 LS-A AT and the mu-X 3.0L 4x2 LS-A AT — traversed Isabela, Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya, all the way to Bicol to test how much road can be covered in one full tank.
The Japanese automotive manufacturer’s distributor in the country said that during the aforementioned event, drivers experienced torrential rain caused by Typhoon Florita (international name Ma-On), giving the vehicles more drag.
“As always, both vehicles traversed without hesitations and went on smoothly through roadblocks and debris,” the company shared.
In one full tank, the Isuzu D-Max travelled 1,564 kilometers (km) of road and had 20.58 kilometer-per-liter (kpl) consumption.
On the other hand, the Isuzu mu-X (which has a bigger fuel capacity of 80 liters) went on further and finished with a 20.94 kpl rating after its 1,675-km journey.
Per IPC, the results were achieved due to proper driving habits assisted by the Isuzu 4JJ3-TCX power mill mated to the six-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift.
“More than highlighting Isuzu’s superiority when it comes to diesel engine technology, we would like to provide solutions to our customers especially in the face of increasing fuel prices. Excellent fuel economy is just one of the many Isuzu advantages they can enjoy while driving these models,” IPC Vice President for Sales Yasuhiko Oyama was quoted as saying.
Following the result, IPC expressed firm belief that the two nameplates are considerably two of the best family vehicles for the coming yuletide season.
According to IPC, those who want to upgrade their family vehicle may want to check out the company’s two offerings as they can easily tick off three major considerations from the buyers’ checklist — safety, modern design, and fuel efficiency.
“With its five-star ASEAN NCAP rating and luxurious styling, these models would often be found on the shortlist of best family vehicles to buy,” IPC said in a statement.
