Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) shared that one of its pioneer dealer partners recently gave an ambulance to Likhaan Center for Women’s Health.
The Japanese automotive distributor in the country said that the Isuzu ambulance that INTECO donated was built from an N-Series truck, which is the NHR. The ceremonial turnover — made in partnership with the Women’s Business Council Philippines Inc. (WomenBizPH) — was held last February 16 at the brand’s Quezon Avenue dealership.
According to IPC, the brand-new Isuzu N-Series ambulance donated to Likhaan was designed by Anos Research Manufacturing to comply with the Department of Health’s (DOH) standard.
To note, WomenBizPH is an advocacy group and the lead private sector partner of the government composed of the country’s top women business leaders and entrepreneurs which promotes and empowers women in the Philippines.
Meanwhile, the Likhaan Center for Women’s Health is a non-government organization that promotes health and equality, particularly of women and poor and disadvantaged people. Some of their programs include running community-based health clinics and providing community education, organization, and mobilization in poverty-stricken communities.
In a statement, IPC is confident that the newly-donated unit “will be of great assistance to Likhaan’s continuous program and advocacy in promoting health care for underprivileged youth and women” given the vehicle’s reliability and fuel-efficiency.
The handing over ceremony was headed by Senator Risa Hontiveros, Likhaan Center for Women’s Health Chairman of the Board Dr. Guy Claudio, WomenBizPH Chairperson Mylene Abiva, IPC Vice president for Sales Division Yasuhiko Oyama, INTECO President and Chief Executive Officer Raymond Jarina, and Isuzu Quezon Avenue Branch Manager Ranvin Jarina. Several dignitaries and those directly involved in the project also grace the event.
Per Jarina, the donation is a tribute to two empowered and respected women, Maria Anos (Anos Research Manufacturing) and Amada Ganzon Jarina (Jarina’s mother). He also commended the hard work of Likhaan to support women empowerment.
For his part, Oyama said that the turnover serves as another testament of Isuzu’s commitment to be Filipinos’ Responsible Partner who gives back to the community by providing the best quality of products and services.
“I have no doubt that this N-Series ambulance with its proven transport efficiency, safety, reliability, and durability will go a long way to save lives and improve the quality of life of many Filipino Women,” the IPC executive said.
