The Isuzu mu-X is arguably one of the local sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment’s most formidable nameplates. Many of its owners swear by its dependability and reliability making it one of the country’s most sought-after vehicles.
On that note, we take a look at some of the impressive features of the Isuzu Mu-X.
While most SUVs can brave the metro’s flooded streets, only a few can take on the challenge of crossing deep bodies of water in the provinces.
The Isuzu mu-X boasts an 800-millimeter (mm) wading capacity.
Per the carmaker, the Isuzu mu-X has a redesigned air intake that was repositioned on the top-front edge of the engine hood and was aligned with the breather lines.
You can check out a demonstration of the mu-X’s wading capabilities, in this video, from Isuzu Philippines.
The Isuzu mu-X also packs a capable engine that allows owners to tackle almost any terrain — be it in the urban jungle or on unpaved provincial terrain.
Under the hood of the range-topping variant of the Isuzu mu-X is a 3.0-liter 4JJ3 diesel engine that peaks at 187 horsepower (hp) with 450Nm of pulling power.
The powerplant is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift.
The Isuzu mu-X has large display panels allowing the driver and its passengers to have good visibility of various alerts and notifications. Past its multi-functional steering wheel is either a conventional 3.5-inch monochrome display or a 4.2-inch electroluminescent multi-informational display (MID) — if you got any of the higher trims.
Complementing the large instrument panel is a 10.1-inch full touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity.
The Isuzu mu-X is also equipped with an Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS) allowing its owners to feel more safe while on the road.
It features the Smart Duo Camera as well as rear radars that not only protect the driver from but also prevent most untoward incidents.
Other safety features include an anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), brake assist (BA), and electronic stability control (ESC), among others.
The Isuzu mu-X is priced from P1.595 million to P2.46 million. It is offered in five variants namely RZ4E 4X2 LS AT, RZ4E 4x2 LS-A MT, 3.0 4x2 LS-A AT, 3.0 4x2 LS-E AT, and 3.0 4x4 LS-E AT.
