Isuzu PH to launch latest D-Max and here’s what you need to know

By now, the coming of the latest version of the Isuzu D-Max is already an open secret. With its debut set on March 4, many already knew bits and pieces about it, so here are some more to further whet your taste buds.

 As we have reported late December last year, Isuzu Philippines Corporation, the local manufacturer of Japanese vehicle maker is set to update their utilitarian pick-up truck D-Max which shares a platform with Japanese automaker Mazda with its also incoming BT-50.

Unless there would be last minute changes, the 2021 Isuzu D-Max will still rely on the potency of the 3.0-Liter 4JJ3-TCX and the RZ4E-TC engine, which now has been improved in terms of performance.

Both these engines are said to have been engineered to provide improved numbers—the 4JJ3-TCX now producing around 187 horsepower from the around 167 hp that the previous generation powertrain delivers. These are still mated to either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

We have seen the looks of the new D-Max and it is easy to say that it is far departed from the outgoing model, giving it a sexier appearance. The body lines complement the huge gun metallic front grille and the dark gray bumper guard.

The incoming Isuzu D-Max does not just improve on aesthetics, but  technology as well.

Some of the technological features that will be seen fitted in the Isuzu D-Max will be the remote engine start, follow-me-home lights (expected to be available in all variants except the single cab offer), welcome lights and walk-away door lock.

For  safety, the utilitarian pick-up truck does not fall far behind its competitors as it has the usual, Anti-lock Braking System – Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (ABS-EBD) with Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control Traction Control System (ESC-TCS), Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control (HAS-HDC) and Brake Override System (BOS).
