Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has launched the newest variant of its D-Max pickup truck, the D-Max Limited.
Set to compete with other “accessorized” pickup trucks in the segment (like the Toyota Hilux GR-S and the Mitsubishi Strada Ralliart), the Isuzu D-Max Limited gets a slew of exterior and interior appointments as well as several performance-oriented upgrades to make it a viable option for Filipino car buyers.
“The new Isuzu D-Max Limited makes the already appealing D-Max pick-up even more attractive to those looking for added character on their vehicle. Designed with uniqueness and individuality in mind, this vehicle is fit for those with a deeper passion in life, especially the adventurous type,” said IPC President Tetsuya Fujita.
Its fore boasts a newly designed blacked-out grille with a striking red Isuzu logo. Similarly, it dons a red front bumper.
The side profile of the Isuzu D-Max Limited features some eye-catching decals with red “Limited” logo and large step boards. Here, one can also find its noticeably rugged-looking 17-inch satin black alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires. Sitting atop its roof is a pair of dark gray metallic roof rails with at least 100-kilogram capacity.
At the back, the Isuzu D-Max Limited features a tailgate with a new design and body graphics as well as a sturdy-looking bedliner.
Inside, the Isuzu D-Max Limited offers model-specific floormats with “Limited” embroidery. It also offers its front occupants fabric bucket seats with anti-vibration elastic comfort foam and a multi-functional urethane steering wheel.
When it comes to onboard car tech, the Isuzu D-Max Limited comes with decent amenities like a 4.2-inch instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch infotainment system.
For its rear occupants, the Isuzu D-Max Limited offers rear air conditioning vents as well as a power outlet for charging handheld devices.
Power comes from a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine married to a six-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift. On paper, the said setup generates a maximum power output of 187 horsepower and 450 Newton-meters of torque.
Since the Isuzu D-Max is aimed at adventurous and outgoing car buyers, it is fitted with dependable suspensions in the form of double wishbone coil springs with high-mounted upper control arm and monotube nitrogen-charged shock absorber and stabilizers at the front and a pair of long-span semi-elliptical soft-ride leaf springs with monotube nitrogen-charged shock absorbers at the rear.
Further, the Isuzu D-Max Limited is slapped with a built-in navigation system and a clinometer, which makes it a suitable go-anywhere vehicle.
The Isuzu D-Max Limited is offered has a sticker price of P1.58 million.
Those looking to drive home the sleek and sporty pickup truck might want to place their orders immediately. That’s because IPC Assistant Division Head for Sales Robert Carlos told Carmudi Philippines that the company would only release 200 samples of the Isuzu D-Max Limited.
“This is only limited to 200 units, so it’s up for grabs,” Carlos explained.
While others might say that they can dress up just about any variant of the Isuzu D-Max, it is worth noting that all the abovementioned upgrades offered by the exclusive D-Max Limited grade have been designed by Isuzu Accessories and Service Parts, Thailand. On that note, the said factory accessory package boasts quality and durability one may not get from cheap, third-party brands.
