Lamborghini has delivered a new "follow-me" car to Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport as the automaker renews its partnership with the Italian international airport for the seventh time.
The new Huracán Evo will guide arriving and departing aircraft to and from the parking apron and taxiway until January 7, 2022.
Sporting an exterior finish complete with the writing “Follow Me in Our Beautiful Country,” the super sportscar gives trendy tourists one more reason to land in Bologna's airport sitting just a few kilometers away from the house of the Raging Bull and the famed Lamborghini Museum.
Like the production models, the Huracán Evo serving in Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport will have a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine that produces 640hp and 600Nm of torque. The powertrain is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch tranny which sends power to an electronically controlled all-wheel drive system.
And while this Huracán Evo peaks at 338kph, it most likely won’t reach its top speed while it dons the role of chaperone in the Italian air station.
A specially designed livery, made by Lamborghini Centro Stile, features checkered accents in Arancione Matt. The paint, which emerges from a base of Verde Turbine Matt, is reminiscent of the operating vehicles in aircraft maneuvering areas, says the automaker.
The new Huracán Evo is also fitted with flashing warning lights and a radio connected to the airport control tower to help it fulfill its airport duties.
