Chevrolet Philippines has officially brought back the Trax nameplate in the country — expanding the Golden Bowtie brand’s offerings to eight.
According to Chevrolet Philippines President and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Alberto Arcilla, the country is the first nation in Southeast Asia to have the 2024 Trax — a model that is manufactured in the General Motors production facility in South Korea.
“The new Trax is bigger, bolder, more refined, and features Chevrolet’s revolutionary design philosophy and pioneering technologies, setting a new standard for crossovers in the country. The 2024 Trax is the first among several Chevrolet automobiles that TCCCI-Chevrolet Philippines has in store for the Filipino market, and it ushers in a new wave of modern Chevy models which are sure to be compelling choices for new car buyers because of their advanced technologies, stylish designs, and overall brand pedigree,” he added.
The latest product is retailed in three trims: LT, Redline and RS.
For his part, General Motors’ Strategic Markets, Alliances and Distributors President and Managing Director Ernesto Ortiz said that the new-generation Trax “is a global model that embodies the Spirit of Chevrolet” which represents the brand’s objective to provide exceptional vehicles around the world.”
“We are confident that this model will make great strides in the Philippines, in the same way it has in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and South Korea. We look forward to seeing the success of the Trax in collaboration with TCCCI, who has been our trusted partner for Chevrolet in the Philippines for almost 14 years,” he added.
Compared to the previous model the new-generation Chevrolet Trax is 279 millimeters (mm) longer and 51mm wider. Its 2,700mm-wheelbase assures generous legroom.
Propelling the new-generation Chevrolet Trax is a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbo double overhead cam-variable valve timing gasoline engine that dishes out a peak churn of 137 horsepower and 220 Newton-meters of torque. The mill matched to a six-speed automatic gearbox.
For its exterior, the new-generation Chevrolet Trax is fitted with an updated grille flanked with LED headlamps and daytime running lights; a sleek side profile with refined body lines, and rear spoiler with integrated high-mount stop lamp at the rear and LED taillamps.
Specific design appointments gave the three variations of the Trax their respective character:
Inside the cabin of the new-generation Chevrolet Trax is the dashboard that houses a large infotainment system slightly angled towards the driver, a low instrument panel, and round air vents inspired by Chevrolet performance vehicle design.
Other upgraded amenities and equipment include smart key, passive entry, cruise control, electronic parking brake with brake auto hold, reverse camera, rear air vents, and Type A and B USB ports.

Moreover, the crossover can haul as much as 1,405 liters of cargo.
Further, the sport utility vehicle boasts an array of advanced driver assistance systems that come as standard on all three variants namely enhanced stability control, anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, cornering brake control, traction control, engine drag control, panic brake assist, enhanced hill start assist, and rollover mitigation system.
Additionally, it is fitted with forward collision alert, following distance indicator, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, auto control high beam, enhanced front pedestrian detection, low speed imminent collision brake, integrated brake assist, and vehicle forward movement detection.

Relatively, Chevrolet Philippines said that it will conduct a series of roadshows for the new-generation Trax in the coming weeks — with the first public display to be held in Rockwell Power Plant Mall.
