The pick-up truck was previewed publicly at the Manila International Motor Show 2024.The said schedule was shared to Carmudi Philippines by JAC International Regional Director for Asia Pacific Jessica Ji and Brand Head for Philippines Tonette Lee during an interview in recent meeting with the motoring media.
However, the Astara Philippines-led firm has yet to share an exact date for the formal launch as well specifications of the soon-to-be-retailed model in the Philippines.
While waiting for the said information to be communicated, here are some facts about the lifestyle pick-up truck as seen abroad.
The JAC T9 — which has a maximum payload of 1,000 kilograms — is 5,330 millimeters (mm) long; 1,965 mm wide; and 1,920 mm tall with a 3,110-mm wheelbase. Its cargo box measures1,520 mm long; 1,590 mm wide, and 470 mm deep.
Its vehicle boasts a beefy look, a bold fascia, an all-LED illumination system, chiseled edges, low beltline, and a power sunroof. Aside from that, the massive vehicle rides on 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 260/65 radial tires.
The JAC T9’s cavernous interior features elegant appointments such as leather portions (either in black and brown or pure black) covering the seats, steering wheel, door panels, and a part of the dashboard; roomy leg- and headroom; seven-inch digital instrument panel; 10.4-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment system (with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity), 50-watt wireless charging dock, and cooling air vent in central armrest box.

However, the model that is also available overseas also comes with a gasoline powertrain that has peak churn of 231 hp and 380 Nm.
Either of the models (mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox) are offered in 4x4 set-up and three drive modes (Normal, Eco and Power).
Absorbing the effects of bad ruts on the road for the JAC T9 are the double wishbone independent suspension with coil spring for the front and non-independent leaf spring rigid axle suspension for the rear. Further, it also has differential locks (mechanical or electronic — depending on the arriving option).
