Avaialble range is up to 505 km
JAC Philippines has officially launched the Ytterby electric vehicle (EV).
It first made its debut at the recently held Manila International Show 2024 and has since brought excitement to the country’s compact electric car segment.
“The launch of the All-New Ytterby is timely as EVs steadily become more mainstream in the Philippines because of their ability to provide clean and cost-efficient mobility,” JAC Philippines Brand Head Tonette Lee said.
“With the launch of the All-New Ytterby, leading edge does not have to mean out of reach, with all its technology and features, this vehicle is surprisingly accessible. This stylish and practical EV complements our lineup of attractive and value-packed models that we believe every Filipino deserves,” she added.
Outside, the JAC Ytterby comes with a clean-looking fascia. It has rounded headlamps and a grille with horizontal vents.
It also gets a two-tone design with a black roof, black pillars, and black side mirrors. On the other hand, it has body colored (flush) door handles, and a set of aluminum alloy wheels.
Depending on the variant, they could measure 16- or 17-inches.
The rear of the JAC Ytterby is equipped with a roof-mounted spoiler (with a third brake lamp), combination taillamps, and two fog lamps.
Inside, the JAC Ytterby gets leather appointments.
The steering wheel and the seats are swathed in the said material, providing the cabin some level of opulence and elegance that matches its exterior design.
On the other hand, it gets a handful of intelligent amenities such as a 6.2-inch digital instrument cluster and either a 12.8-inch or a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, as well as six or eight speakers — depending on the trim.
Some of its other notable features include Apple Carplay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity; smart air conditioning system with an automatic heat pump as well as a PM 2.5 and pollen filtration system; a wireless charging dock; a 64-color ambient lighting system; and a host of USB ports.
It also gets a wireless charging dock, 64-color ambient lighting, and a slew of USB ports.
Powering the JAC Ytterby is a permanent magnet synchronous motor. It comes with either a 41 kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery or a 51.5 kWh power pack.
The former can generate as much 94 horsepower (hp) and 135 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque while the latter can produce 134 hp with 175 Nm.
In addition, the variant with the smaller battery can offer up to 405 kilometers (km) of emissions-free driving while the one with the beefier capacity can drive up to 505 km on a single charge.
Juicing up the 41 kWh battery, the Astara-led brand noted, will take at least 7.5 hours using an AC charging system while the 51.5 kWh battery will take up to nine hours. On the other hand, using a DC charging system will fill up the battery within just 0.5 hours.
When it comes to safety, the JAC Ytterby gets features like airbags, seatbelts, cruise control, electronic stability, dynamic-assisted braking, traction control, brake assist, a tire pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensors, and an energy recovery mode reminder.
The electric compact hatchback also comes with advanced driver assist technologies such as blind spot detection, door open warning, cross traffic warning, lane departure warning, front collision warning, auto headlamps, lane keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency brakingm and intelligent cruise assistance.
The JAC Ytterby is available in two variants 405 Air and 505 Lux Pro. They are priced at P1.195 million to P1.320 million, respectively.
It was launched today at Autohub Group-run JAC Pasig, located on E. Rodriguez Junior Avenue corner Jose Cruz Street in Barangay Barrio Ugong.
“Given our excellent working relationship with Astara Philippines, it was only natural for us to start distributing the value-packed models from JAC Philippines,” Autohub Group President and Chief Executive Officer Willy Tee Ten said.
“We sincerely believe that being part of the JAC Philippines family will contribute to the new heights that the Autohub Group will reach this year. We are also proud to serve as the venue for the launch of the All-New Ytterby EV. Our dedicated team is ready to serve our clients in Pasig City, as well as in various parts of the metro,” he added.
