Jaguar Land Rover announces ‘Open Innovation’ strategy

Jaguar Land Rover announced on Wednesday, April 27, its newest business strategy named "Open Innovation." According to the British automotive marque, this new strategy will allow them to accelerate next-generation technology and sustainability and support its Modern Luxury vision for the business, its partners, and customers.

    Under Open Innovation, Jaguar Land Rover looks to promote collaborations with start-ups, scale-ups, and like-minded external organizations on electrification, connectivity, digital services, metaverse, intelligent enterprise, manufacturing, supply chain, and sustainability.

    In addition, Jaguar Land Rover will launch a first-of-its-kind innovation hub in the UK, in partnership with the corporate innovation platform and investor, Plug and Play.

    Furthermore, Jaguar Land Rover will team up with Cubo Itau and Firjan in an effort to provide access to the vibrant Latin American start-up ecosystem.

    Through Jaguar Land Rover’s new program, the company aims to identify digital services, products, tools, and processes that will further its goal of net-zero by 2039, while creating new value chains in the process.

    Jaguar Land Rover has appointed over 70 “champions” from across key business areas — including sustainability, engineering, design, research, and manufacturing — that will serve as the company’s faces as they drive the Open Innovation strategy.
