Jaguar will be pulling the plug on its iconic sports car, the F-Type. And as the British luxury carmaker looks to bid the 75-year-old model adieu, it offers a swan song in the form of the Jaguar F-Type 75 and F-Type R 75.
“For 75 years Jaguar has been renowned for producing extraordinary sports cars that deliver performance, agility, and maximum driver reward. The F-Type special editions hold true to these principles, adding unique interior and exterior design details to celebrate this lineage before Jaguar becomes an all-electric brand from 2025,” said Jaguar Land Rover Chief Exterior Designer Matthew Beaven.
At a glance, both F-Type models boast powerful proportions, thanks to a body sculpted from light, stiff aluminum. At the fore are super-slim LED headlights, featuring Pixel technology as standard, with “Calligraphy” J signature daytime running lights and sweeping direction indicators. Its rear, on the other hand, features LED lights with “Chicane” signature.
The Jaguar F-Type 75 and Jaguar F-Type R 75, both in Coupé or Convertible form, ride on model-specific 20-inch wheels. Rounding up the exterior appointments are discreet badges on the front fenders.
Inside are lightweight slimline seats finished in Windsor leather with crafted monogram stitch pattern. An available Extended Leather Upgrade option sees the same luxurious leather on the door trims of the Jaguar F-Type 75 and Jaguar F-Type R 75. Standard on the special-edition F-Type models is an Ebony Suedecloth headliner.
Other notable features inside the cockpit include a 12.3-inch reconfigurable Interactive Driver Display.
Power comes from either a four or an eight-cylinder engine with a maximum power output of 295 and 567 horsepower (hp), respectively. Both engine options are paired with an eight-speed Quickshift transmission with full manual control using either the SportShift gear selector or the steering wheel-mounted paddles.
The 295hp 2.0-liter powerplant is exclusively rear-wheel-drive and is fitted to the Jaguar F-Type 75. Meanwhile, the 567hp 5.0-liter supercharged V8 mill is offered with either a rear-wheel or all-wheel drivetrain system and is equipped on the Jaguar F-Type R 75.
Both, however, feature an electronic active rear differential to optimize traction and enable a maximum speed of approximately 285 kilometers per hour (kph).
The F-Type’s four-cylinder and V8 engines are made at Jaguar Land Rover’s state-of-the-art Engine Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom (UK).
The first customer deliveries are expected to begin in January 2023, the year that marks 75 years of Jaguar sports cars.
The 2024 Model Year Jaguar F-Type range is made at the Castle Bromwich plant in the UK.
