American 4x4 specialist Jeep recently announced that owners of the latest models of the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator can now purchase new, industry-leading Gorilla Glass replacement windshields.
The new windshields, says Jeep, uses the same chemical-strengthening technology used for cell phone screens.
“Out on the trail or on a daily commute, windshield damage can happen anywhere at any time,” said Jeep North America Vice President for Mopar Service, Parts & Customer Care Mark Bosanac.
“Our proven, quality-tested JPP replacement windshields made with Gorilla Glass offer hard-core Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator owners additional protection and a factory warranty,” he adds.
Mopar — the parts, service, and customer care division of Stellantis — created a combination of an ultra-thin Gorilla Glass inner ply with a 52% thicker outer ply. This makes the windshield lightweight and durable.
According to Jeep, the new Corning Gorilla Glass should offer superior resistance to chips, cracks, and fractures from stones and off-road debris.
In addition, these windshields will have a two-year (from date of installation) limited, unlimited-mile warranty from Mopar.
The replacement windshields will also feature the original Jeep branding “Easter eggs” along with the Gorilla Glass brand’s signature gorilla head artwork.
Mopar’s new replacement windshields for the latest Jeep Wrangler (JL) and Jeep Gladiator (JT) models are now available in the US and Canada. Prices start from US$645.
