Jeep Philippines has unleashed the latest iteration of the iconic Wrangler Rubicon.
That said, it sports new features that offer would-be owners the freedom to go anywhere and do anything.
A new fascia adorns the sport utility vehicle’s fore as it comes with an updated seven-slot grille. Per Jeep Philippines, the new front end allows more air into the engine bay for better cooling.
On its flanks are the iconic circular headlamps that Jeep vehicles have worn through the years, daytime running lights mounted on the front fenders, and fog lamps integrated on the lower front bumper.
The side profile of the new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is highlighted with high-clearance fender flares (which allow more space for articulation or play, especially when equipped with oversized tires), new 17-inch wheels with 285/70 series off-road tires, boxy windows, and squarish side mirrors.
At the back, the rugged yet opulent off-roader gets a swing-out door, a large rear glass (which opens upwards), stubby taillamps, and a solid-looking bumper with reflectors.
Inside, the new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon offers seats wrapped in leather as well as a steering wheel and a gear shifter swathed in a similar material. Likewise, the door trims, center armrest, and dashboard are finished in leather with red stitching.
Past the steering wheel is an instrument cluster that combines both analog gauges and digital meters. It is complemented by the new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Google Android Auto. Audio is blasted through an Alpine Premium sound system with nine speakers for a crisp auditory experience.
Other notable features offered by the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon include performance suspensions, a tethered fuel cap, skid plates to protect the transfer case and transmission, adaptive cruise control, an advanced brake system, electronic roll mitigation, and electronic stability control.
The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged “Hurricane” engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The said setup makes 268 horsepower with 400 Newton-meters of torque.
Jeep is offering the new Wrangler Rubicon in four-door (Unlimited) and two-door variants. The former has a price tag of P5.78 million while the latter will set enthusiasts back some P5.59 million.
