Jeep has unveiled the 20th-anniversary edition models of the 2023 Wrangler Rubicon 4xe and the 2023 Wrangler Rubicon 392 at the ongoing 2023 Chicago Auto Show.
Per the Stellantis-owned automotive brand, the abovementioned special-edition models celebrate the marque’s most capable Wranglers to date.
“Twenty years ago, a small group of enthusiastic Jeep engineers affectionately known as the ‘Lunatic Fringe,’ with grit and determination and their personal credit cards, designed, engineered and developed the most capable Wrangler yet — the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon — and over delivered on everyone’s expectations because they knew it was what Jeep customers wanted,” said Jeep North America Senior Vice President Jim Morrison.
“Today the Rubicon model represents about a quarter of overall Wrangler sales, with more than 700,000 sold worldwide, and includes the electrified Rubicon 4xe, the best-selling and most capable PHEV (plug-in hybrid vehicle) in America. That same spirit of determination and ingenuity that led to the creation of the Wrangler Rubicon lives on in these new 20th anniversary special editions, which for the first time, bring available 37s to the Wrangler, providing unmatched capability,” he added.
According to the Ohio-based carmaker, the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe 20th Anniversary is based on the Rubicon 4xe model. It is powered by a 375-horsepower (hp) PHEV powertrain and can deliver up to 33 kilometers of all-electric range.
Featured are special equipment, which includes the new Jeep seven-slot grille, 20th Anniversary hood decals in electric blue theme, a 20th Anniversary swing gate plaque, a 20th Anniversary shifter medallion, a triple hoop grille guard, 17x7.5-inch beadlock-capable wheels shod in 33-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, an 83-piece tool kit with canvas bag, an integrated front off-road camera, heavy-duty steel rock sliders, a gorilla glass windshield, unique red-and-black leather seats, red leather-wrapped instrument panel bolster, and all-weather slush mats.
Meanwhile, the American car brand said that the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 20th Anniversary builds on the Rubicon 392 model. Power comes from a 470-hp V8.
Its long list of unique appointments includes ones similar to the aforementioned 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe 20th Anniversary with the exception of its 20th Anniversary hood decals in 392 bronze theme.
Also available for the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 20th Anniversary is the Xtreme Recon Package, which adds 17x8-inch beadlock-capable wheels wrapped 35-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, a jack spacer by Mopar, a tire relocation kit by Mopar, a hinge-gate reinforcement by Mopar, and wheel flare extensions.
Jeep said that United States (US) customers interested to take home the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe 20th Anniversary and 2023 Wrangler Rubicon 392 20th Anniversary can place their orders this month. The special-edition machines are priced at US$69,585 (P3.835 million) and US$90,895 (P5.010 million), respectively.
