Jeep reveals what’s new for the 2023 Grand Cherokee

The Grand Cherokee is arguably one of the most popular models in Jeep’s stable. The nameplate has set the industry benchmark for premium SUVs and quickly became synonymous with upscale design and uncompromised capability.

For 2023, Jeep reveals some exciting things about the brand’s upmarket SUV — the first of which is a 4xe plug-in hybrid Trailhawk variant.

The 2023 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged, four-cylinder engine and two electric motors with a 400-volt battery pack mated to a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain setup makes 375 horses and 637Nm of torque.

Since it’s a Trailhawk variant, it will boast trail-specific features such as 10.9-inch (27.8 cm) ground clearance, 24-inch (61 cm) water-fording capability, rear electronic limited-slip differential (eLSD), blue-accented 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, and blue tow hooks.

The 2023 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe has an estimated all-electric range of 25 miles (40 km).

In addition, Limited and Overland variants of the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee will now come with Uconnect 5 NAV with a 10.1-inch digital touchscreen as standard.

Furthermore, a nine-speaker Alpine audio system is available as a standalone option on the Limited model while Overland and Summit models get a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system available as a standalone option.
