Jeep rolls out new variants for Renegade, Compass

Jeep announced that the Renegade and Compass nameplates are now available in a special Upland variant while the Compass now has the exclusive High Altitude grade.

Powering the Upland version of the Jeep Renegade and Compass is a 1.3-liter turbo gasoline engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. This setup is then paired with an 11-kilowatt-hour battery pack and two electric motors.

Together, they put out 240 horsepower.

Meanwhile, the High Altitude variant — available only for the Jeep Compass — is powered by the brand’s e-hybrid engine that makes 130 horses and 240 Newton-meters of torque.

“The Jeep Renegade and Compass are two of the Jeep SUVs (sport utility vehicle) that best express the legendary brand values of Freedom, Adventure, Passion, and Authenticity. Both Upland and High Altitude versions are fully equipped to offer a strong customer advantage. They can handle both smooth roads and the rockiest off-road terrain and allows customers to ‘Go Anywhere and Do Anything,’” said Jeep Brand Head for Europe Eric Laforge.

Common to the said variants are exterior appointments such as cornering fog lamps, full LED headlights with auto-high beam, and roof rails. Meanwhile, the special-edition models flaunt interior features like a seven-inch thin-film transistor cluster display and an 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system for the Jeep Renegade. On the other hand, the Upland and High Altitude Compass comes with a 10.25-inch instrument panel and a 10.1-inch infotainment system.

The Jeep Renegade and Compass Upland and the Compass High Altitude editions are available in Alpine White, Black, Colorado Red.
