Jeep revealed that production of the all-electric Jeep Recon and Jeep Wagoneer S will start in 2024.In Europe, the company will unveil the all-new Avenger. The all-electric compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) has a targeted electric range of 400 kilometers; impressive ground clearance, break-over, and approach angles for its segment; as well as a modern and technologically-advanced interior.
“The all-new Avenger will offer Jeep brand capability that is rightsized for the European market. This modern, fun, and emotional SUV will appeal to a growing set of customers who are looking for a capable, compact, modern, and all-electric Jeep brand alternative to the current players,” said Jeep Europe Head Antonella Bruno.
The Jeep Avenger will make its debut during the Paris Motor Show on October 17. It is expected to arrive in European showrooms in early 2023.
In North America, on the other hand, the brand will introduce the all-new Jeep Recon and the Wagoneer S.
According to Jeep, the all-new Recon is designed from the ground up to be 100-percent Jeep 4x4 and 100-percent zero emission. The SUV will be offered exclusively as a battery-electric vehicle (BEV). Jeep added that it will boast true trail-rated capability with the Jeep Selec-Terrain traction management system, e-locker axle technology, under-body protection, tow hooks, and aggressive off-road tires. It will also feature the latest generation Uconnect system, including detailed travel guides on the most notable off-road trails.
“The all-new, all-electric Jeep Recon has the capability to cross the mighty Rubicon Trail, one of the most challenging off-road trails in the US, and reach the end of the trail with enough range to drive back to town and recharge,” said Jeep Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Christian Meunier.
As for the Wagoneer S, Jeep reveals that it will expand the brand’s presence in the premium SUV segment by offering a unique, sleek, aerodynamic design and 4x4 capability as standard, with all-terrain management, advanced Jeep brand-focused technology, and impressive performance credentials.
Targeted range for the Wagoneer S will be over 600 kilometers (km) in a single charge. Its maximum power output is at 600 horsepower (hp) and can do 0-60 miles per hour (mph) of 3.5 seconds.
“We’ll delight our customers with a premium, highly efficient SUV that is loaded with technology and high-quality craftmanship, offering 4x4 capability, high performance, rapid acceleration, and a target range of 400 miles on a single charge,” Meunier commented.
In a statement, Jeep said that the production for both the all-new Recon and Wagoneer S will commence in 2024 in North America.
